Mr Lars Brinkmann is a publicly appointed and sworn expert for the electrical engineering trade in the field of systems electronics by the Braunschweig-Lüneburg-Stade Chamber of Crafts.

expert reports and other expert services such as consulting, monitoring, testing, issuing certificates, and acting as an arbitrator and adjudicator.

The expert witness acts as an assistant to the judges in civil proceedings. He provides technical expertise to clarify and answer technical questions of evidence. As a publicly appointed and sworn expert witness, Mr Brinkmann works throughout Germany.

Only those who have been appointed and sworn in by a public institution on a legal basis may call themselves publicly appointed and sworn expert witnesses.

This means that they have demonstrated special expertise, independence, objectivity and trustworthiness. If even one of these requirements is not met, the expert will not be appointed.

The title ‘expert’ alone does not guarantee quality, as it is not protected by law. Therefore, qualifications and personal integrity must be checked separately when experts offer their services without public appointment as so-called self-appointed experts. Recognition by private expert associations cannot replace public appointment and swearing-in.

Only public appointment is the distinction provided for by law for particularly qualified experts.
